Remove the the line that comes in MS Word when you put --- and press enter

When you press------ several times and press enter, MS Word creates a border around your content. It is not a horizontal line; so it can not be deleted. To get rid of this border, select the content before the border. In Word 2003 go to Format->Borders and Shading. Click on "Borders" Tab. In the "Preview" you will see a border at the bottom. Click on it until it goes away, then click OK. This should remove the horizontal line.

In Word 2007, to reach to this option, you need to go to "Page Layout" tab, then click on "Page Border" and go to tab "Borders".

Here is my opinion about the Rockstar.Before anybody jumps out of his/her seat to comment that who the hell is thisperson commenting on a movie of this stature, let me share my idea of blogging.Its my blog and I shout here… and more over India is a free country… and whenwe love our stars so much unconditionally, we have every right to tighten thescrews also a bit when we see an evident blunder.

Before starting this review I heardthe music a LOT of times and read quite a few other reviews too from Internetand finally was very happy with the scenario cuz couldn’t find any realcriticism on at least first two search pages of Google.

My first impression of the movie fromthe initial teasers was that it sure is going to be a movie to look out for…cuz the get up… the passion in such a polite and soft-spoken personality likeRanveer was a welcome change. The only movie I hate him doing is 'saanwariyaa'…otherwise he has been a re-incarnation of my icon, the King Khan. I know it isa big thing to say, but the romance one could feel in SRK days was almost goneand found wanting of a personality that could carry the legacy. I mean look at'Bachna ae Haseeno'… and you can see the SRK of 1990… the charm, the wet eyes…and then look at him in ‘wake up sid’ and ‘ajab prem ki gajab kahani’… and onecould see the SRK of ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’… and come ‘raajneeti’ and yourealize that we have an SRK in the making. So all in all, a true star is in themaking and with this getup in ‘Rockstar’ there was no turning back of my hopesfrom the movie.

Of late, I’ve been a VERY late bird(Iwas an early bird in my school days, I used to visit the cassette shop almostdaily to check if music of any new movie has come), and so was late to have thegreat news that in the movie that I was looking forward to had more in-storefor me, even before the release. I was blown away to watch the latest teaserfeaturing the track ‘sadda haq’. I immediately went online to check out who onthe earth has come to the Indian music scene to bless the audience here withsome powerful music(cuz its been quite some time since we witnessed thePakistani youth brigade led by Atif), and guess what it was a dream come trueto see the GOD himself compose the music for the movie. GREAT. What more can an‘insane ’ ask for. A R Rahman… yippie… finally we can break the shackles andfeel free and fly along with some powerful music.

That’s it. As soon as I search googleand serach the music review of the film. The dream is over. All that seemed soperfect for an early winter release was messed up… atleast by the looks… thealbum seemed as if it was a mohit’s album. OK, so personally it’s not that Idon’t like mohit as a singer, and infact I’ve liked his works from the good olddays of ‘Silk Route’ and when ‘boondein’ happened with smash hits like ‘doobadooba’. But his song ‘tum se hi’ from ‘Jab we met’ just irritated me like hell.I was so irritated and shocked to see that this was the sound of lead singerfrom ‘Silk Route’, the band I loved so much. I mean, the complete fuckin’ songsounds same, no ups lows, GOD knows what the real music lingo is for that butmonotonus like shit… YEAS SHIT… no matter what, whom, when, where, how… itsmells and looks shit… same is the case with mohit’s songs… just bullshitmonotonity… take away ‘masakkali’ from ‘delhi-6’ and ‘pee loon’ from ‘once upona time in mumbai’ from his portfolio and listen to all the shit that he hasdelivered, all bloody sound same… 10 years from now I’m telling all of themwill become like cheenie people… all the same… we wont be able to differentiate who is chin po and who is pin cho...

Ok so enough of foreplay… let’s get tobusiness… for me, the stage was set for an amazing combo… a good looking movieand an unusual getup for an Indian movie star, to go with some really powerfulmusic… For once I even thought that it may be of the league of what I missed inform of ‘Paanch’ by Anuraag Kashyap(Kalki’s husband…lol… OK… OK… we all knowanurag kashyap for other reasons too, yeas he’z the one behind some legendryworks of recent times ranging from Black Friday, Dev D to Gulaal to Shaitaan inrecent, and That Girl in Yello boots due for release). I mean it needs SOMEmusic, singing and performance to get anything close to ‘main Khuda’ by KK andKK(both KK’s are menon and both are really special in their own league). I meanwhen I saw ‘sadda haq’ it was almost reminiscence of ‘main Khuda’, the power thatKK(singer) put in the rendition and the goose bump performance that KK(actor)gave… could immediately be connected to Ranveer and AR Rahman’s ‘sadda haq’.But as soon as you try to put in mohit, the aura just fades… I strictly feelthat his voice is OK for smaller budget films… or maybe he might be good withone here and there in mahesh bhatt’s movies… cuz mahesh’s movies, though have abold point to make but still are soft in presentation… I mean a violent moviewith scenes of gore like murder 2 can also accommodate songs like ‘phirmohobbat’… hez a maestro at getting out special from people… so if mohit worksfor Mahesh bhatt then its still OK… cuz bhatt can deal with him… but with‘Rockstar’… I personally feel he has simple and plain fucked up the album… justlike farhaan messed up ‘Rock on’ when instead of resorting to pros like KK,Atif or sukhwinder he decided to go ahead by himself and really messed them up…but for me he was still far far better than mohit… hez an intelligent worksmanand hence he was atleast able to pump in the passion though his voice wassounding weak and hollow at times but still he was atleast able to generate theRock mood. But with mohit… he sounds as if hez a looser and is singing in a busor train or in front of a temple, asking you to accept his song and his voiceand talent… instead of pushing… exerting his sound on the scene… he seemswanting for recognition… now come on… its not being rude… when we pay to buy acassette or a CD… we are not expecting to hear a plea from the singer… insteadwhat we want is the singer to push us to go out and buy his next album, withoutlistening to the track, out of shear brand loyalty… that is what AR Rahman is…that is what KK is, what Atif is or for that matter what Mahesh Bhatt is… wedon’t need to think twice before buying their music… we just buy it… but withmohit the scene is that he comes bundled with when you buy a ‘delhi-6’ for ARRahman, or a ‘once upon a time in mumbai’ for ajay devgan. And atleast for amovie like Rockstar, you don’t want any charity or welfare, you need power,exertion… you need a ‘PAANCH’ like power…

Personally for me… it’s a twostatement review for the music:

1. A R Rahman is back in form

2. Mohit Chauhan has sounded toomonotonus majority of the time and hence has fucked up the album

And yeas it is very much possible thatthe music might do well in terms of numbers, but it can never become a ‘sitaronse aage jahan aur bhi hai’ from 'dil se'… I mean you watch ‘dil se’ and you arebound to get goose bumps when sukhwinder and AR Rahman create magic in thissong… This is what we expect of AR Rahman… that even after 15 years… the echosof that song in our minds raise our heart beats… leave aside me… I toh getgoose bumps even today when I remember this song and SRK being beaten up andthrown up mountains, and when mini and SRK are blown or the background chantsof ‘jai bharat, jai bharat’ when the terrorist training camps were shown… forme, I admit ‘Dil se’ was special(the only movie I watched in theatre multipletimes other than KNPH… hehehe… I watched both these movies atleast 4-5 daysconsecutively and 8-9 times in total in theater), but then I guess this is truewith AR Rahman’s music for ever… I mean how can a person as sufi as someone whoproduced a ‘vande maataram’, ‘piya haji ali’, ‘mustafa mustafa’, ‘Yeh Jo DesHai Tera’, miscalculate upon such a stage… Mohit is just not the person.

So, enough of anti mohit campaign(thisarticle seems more of an anti mohit agenda than Review of Rockstar music)… letus discuss the songs and my comments…

Phir se ud challa - MohitChauhan: opening sounded a bit like the mood of 'yuhi chala chal from swades',but surely missed the sounds of Kailash and Udit. A good composition and lyricstoo were soulful… but mohit has let down, for some funny reason he alwayssounds crying… aaaieeennnnn aaaaaaannnnnn… +composition, - singing(KK-sukhi-kailashwould’ve been better)
Jo bhi main - Mohit Chauhan: thecrowd sounds are special but… KK would have been perfect for this one… it’s hiskind of song… even a Farhaan akhtar would have done better… don’t trust me…just listen to ‘tum ho toh’ from 'rock on'… the song here, 'jo bhi main' has great mood, feel and crowd… butthe soul is missing… cuz the performer is not singing his heart out… insteadmohit is just reading out the lines given with his trade mark lousy aaaieeennnnnaaaaaaannnnnn… +mood, +composition, +feel, - singing(KK was the only person forthis song… and yeas if any farahn could’ve done it better, cuz he has shown in'tum ho toh')
Katiya Karoon - Harshdeep Kaur:these kind of songs have become almost a synonym of AR Rahman hindi movie albumoff late… and infact nothing even comparable to 'sasural genda fool' nothing special
Kun Faya Kun - A.R Rahman,Javed Ali, Mohit Chauhan: The GOD himself takes charge and leads the way… andamazing composition… right up there if not comparable to ‘piya haji ali’ and ‘khwajamere khwaja’ amazing… one of the saving grace of the album Winner
Sheher Mein - Mohit Chauhan,Karthik: sounds the funky types, comic types like Eminem(of course not rap orhip hop), karthik sounds OK but mohit is again is shehar meiinnnn… aaaieeennnnnaaaaaaannnnnn… nothing special
Hawaa Hawaa - Mohit Chauhan: Atypical AR Rahman like song… from his days of Telugu dubbed movies in hindi…like ‘gentleman’ and ‘kadhalan’… a singer from south or Rahmans's team would have done it far better... nothing special
Aur Ho - Mohit Chauhan, AlmaFerovic: amazing compilation and without doubt Mohit’s best in the album… + composition(sukhwinderwould have just pumped extra special life in this… something like ‘aaja sanam’from ‘khilaaf’ or even something of the league of ‘satrangi’ from ‘dil se’ by sonu)
Tango For Taj – Instrumental:just another composition… no way what one expects from AR Rahman when it comesto instrumentals or background scores… remember Bombay theme, ‘sitaaron se aagejahan’ from ‘Dil se’, I mean Rahmans's instrumentals speak more loud and clear that the tracks with explicit lyrics... but here... its a diwali ka fusssssss patakha... nothing special
Tum Ko - Kavita Subamaniam: atypical kavita rendition… nothing special and comparable to ‘boondon se baatein’from ‘Thakshak’ or the likes... nothing special
The Dichotomy Of Fame - Instrumentalfeat. Balesh, Kabuli : again a letdownfor an instrumental by AR Rahman… nothing special
Nadaan Parinde - A.R Rahman,Mohit Chauhan: a maestro stroke as we expect when we listen to AR Rahman withan OK performance by Mohit(would have loved to hear a bit more of AR Rahman inthe song and would have been great if Mohit was replaced by sukhwinder)
Tum Ho - Mohit Chauhan,Suzanne D'Mello : an OK composition but could have been better if for once wecould have some other singer… remember Benny Dayal from ‘kaise mujhe tum milgaye’ in ‘Ghajini’… this is what a fresh voice can do at times… it can workwonders and give an OK song like 'kaise mujhe tum' or this one a completely new perspective nothing special
Saada Haq - Mohit Chauhan,feat. Orianthi, Clinton Cerejo: Clearly the winner… a great great sound… it hasthe canvas of AR Rahman… somewhat like songs from ‘yuvraaj’ had… it feelsBIG…the sound… the passion… the lyrics… is just amazing… but when you listen to itmore closely on a head phone you can clearly make out mohit being singled out…he bloody is again howling… hez just pure shit nonsense… put a KK or even morea sukwinder and listen to the composition.. it is bound to blow you away… asuperb composition… that too an extent has covered up Mohit’s mess and is aclear #1 for the album Winner

All the best Ranveer… AR Rahman… saddahaq and rockstar… GO and conquer hearts…

It’s been long since I shared my real ‘Gyaan’. But recently I had too many encounters with the entertainment industry of modern days that forced me out of my shell. Of course I’ve been a bit late to actually come across all these and share them, but these have been such that just don’t let me leave them go unexpressed. A major reason being all four came from ends where they were least expected.

To start with it was ‘D. K. Bose’, God only knows what was so special in it, may be the music, may be the lyrics, may be the disgust filled in it, the truth, the nightmare, the composition as a whole, probably the pace or even the ease with which it has been rendered by Ram Sampath. Definitely it was not the video or the movie cuz I haven’t seen either of them as yet. Yes I have definitely seen the video they’ve been airing as a promo or the one that is available on YouTube. Why did it come from a least expected avenue… cuz it had Aamir Khan’s nephew, Imran Khan… that is good enough a reason for a Shah Rukh Khan fan like me for not to like or even explore anything related to this movie. But still it happened, the very first time I heard this song on my headphones it was almost as if it was saying 'here i am... rock you like a hurricane'. I immediately searched for the movie, pictures, info and again got struck by its main poster that was being used for promo and just felt real tied up as I have taken a break from sketching for now. The poster pulled me with immediate effect to do it. It had that attraction that very few pictures have created in me, literally of the league of Kalki sketches. The song triggered it all and I might have even gone on to do the sketch too but it was an encounter worth expressing. The complete compilation is magically powerful. Just loved it... hats-off.

Next one was with the movie ‘pyaar ka punchnama’. Don’t know why but I really hate these words like ‘punchnama’. I liked the song ‘life sahi hai’ from this movie even when i was not knowing that it was from this movie, for more than one reasons. One prime reason was KK, with second being Vishal Dadlani, and I know these two reasons are very much personal and lack objectivity, but to be true I’m a biiiiiiiiiig fan of these two… just love the power these two, along with recent singers from Pakistan like Atif can fill in a song. Also this song along with likes of ‘D. K. Bose’ from Delhi Belly and ‘Hawa Hawai’ and ‘Khoya khoya chand’ from shaitan, and ‘phir mohobbat’ from Muder 2, are a welcome group of songs to break the shackles and open up the flood gates that have been jammed for quite some time courtesy ‘munnni’ and ‘sheela’ and a couple of big nonsense hits by Salmaan Khan (with exception to ‘hud dabbang’ a great redering by sukhwinder) that completely destroyed the fresh and scintillating musical journey that was kicked off by Mahesh Bhat, Imran Hashmi, Atif, Mustafa Zahid…

Anyhow first of all I liked this song ‘life sahi hai’ and was keen to watch this movie cuz the lyrics had something pulling me all the time. No one would believe they were exactly like my ‘summer of 69’ from bagalkot. But somehow I managed to miss the movie and forgot about it. Then one fine day while I was going through my favoritest kid’s collection of movies I found this silly movie and I thought why not give it a try. And to my shockingly freaking surprise the very first frame itself made it clear that it would be another ‘Rock on’ and ‘Dasvidaniya’ that I won’t be able to wind up in 10-15 minutes and trust me it was worth giving its full quota of two hours and thirty minutes.

The very first frame was reminisce of ‘Pink House’. It literally gave goose bumps to feel like going 15 years back in a single frame. I could exactly relate to the way they would party all the time and go to the dhaba, with LIQUID doing netagiri at the dhaba having Choudhry with him to take care off… lol… it was like a sillier DMT from 15 years back doing all the netagiri in the world having Hiremath with him. I could easily connect all those three characters to so many of my friends and batch mates from bagalkot. Second instance that gave me real goose bumps was when Chaudhry at a bar sang ‘summer of 69’, it just took me by storm, cuz it was the least expected song from a Pink Floyd fan. All this (especially chaudhry singing summer of 69) was almost as if someone was trying to take me to good old days when apni toh geeta also used to be Floyd and metallica ki kahi. Chaudhry’s get-up at their room was exactly like pandat used to have in those days and the coolness and relaxed composition he used to have while dealing with life outside his room, whether it was giving a faintest of looks to the girls passing by while entering the pub in ‘life sahi hai’ or it was scaring the jerks away from the girl talking on mobile again in ‘life sahi hai’ or even the encounter with his girlfriend’s ex in the office, or handling all the trash that was created by his girlfriend’s friends at the birthday party. He was exactly like Rawal, calm, composed and always felt in control. Their lives, their talks, their masti, their running away from girls, everything was just too real to believe. Just enjoyed every single moment of the movie, it was almost a Rock-on that takes you to the flashback, where there’s youth and there’s tension nahi hai and there’s na kisi ka rona dhona, na koi siyaapa, har kisi ko taada, har kisi ko naapa, chichoristaan ke hum Chaudhry thay, life sahi thi, tension nahi thi.

These two encounters with entertainment industry were really worth it. And all those who have not seen these movies are recommended to go and grab a copy of these movies and watch ‘em… Rock on, dasvidaniya, pyaar ka punchnama. Hail contemporary writers and Hail modern day movie makers who have made these movies so much worth watching, making audience realize that there’s more to cinema than Amitabh bachchan going out and fighting for hours without causing any destruction to either himself or the other, just jumping like crazy and doing all the silly stunts in the world, that too in every second movie

This tutorial will show you how to take your regular beach day photo and turn it into a beautiful sunset silhouette. Oh, and this is my 30th tutorial.
I started with this photo from BigStockPhoto.com (Couple by Dimitrii). It’s a perfect photo, since the couple is in the foreground and there are no distracting objects.

Start by selecting the people in the foreground. This doesn’t have to be an exact selection… but the closer the better. It’s also better to have a little outside of the lines than in. I made my selection by using the Quick Mask [Q] and, using the Brush Tool [B], painting away the red.

With your selection made, create a new Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer [Layer > New Adjustement Layer > Hue/Saturation]. Drag the Lightness all the way down to -100. (NOTE: You don’t HAVE to go to -100. Leaving it a little higher will allow your objects to show more.)

You should end up with something like this:

Beneath your Hue/Saturation Layer… you’re going to create another Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer [Layer > New Adjustement Layer > Hue/Saturation] with the same setting of Lightness: -100.
Your image will be black. Select the Gradient Tool [G] and press [D] to set your colors to default. Choose the default Black-to-White gradient.

Make sure your layer mask is selected on your new Hue/Saturation Adjustment layer.

Now, drag the gradient from bottom to top. Do this until you get the effect you like.

Below these two layers, create a Solid Color Adjustment layer [Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color]. Set the color to a dark orange color. I used #f78733.
Set the Layer Mode to Color Burn.

If the color is too dark or too light, just open the Solid Color Adjustment Layer and mess with the colors til you get something you like.
Now, to create the glow of the sun. Make a circle selection with the center near the horizon.

Create a new Solid Color Adjustment Layer and select a yellow color. I used #f4bc12.

Run a high Gaussian Blur of around 25-pixels or so. [Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur]. Make it enough of a blur so you can’t see a hard edge in your circle. Set the Layer Mode to Lighten.

Make a trapezoid shaped selection, with the small end being at your horizon.

Create a new Solid Color Adjustment Layer below the orange-color layer. Fill it with the same yellow you used for the sun. Again, I used #f4bc12.

Run a Gaussian Blur [Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur] (or [Ctrl + Alt + F]) of about half the amount you used earlier. I used 15.
Set the Layer Mode to Linear Light and reduce the Layer Opacity to around 50%.

In case you got confused on the Layer order, here’s a shot of my Layers Palette.

So there’s a relatively quick way to turn any photo into a Hallmark sunset photo.

after a bit of googling i found this really cool method on xda to batch install apks on android device

this is how your command prompt will look
these are the commands you need to input at your command prompt
commands you need to enter when you are replacing text in print.txt file(see screen shots for reference)

1. on your PC Open command prompt (CMD) and change directory to your apk folder(lets call it ext)
preferably keep it in C: coz its easy to reach there... coz then all you need to do is
c:\>cd\
c:\>cd ext
2. then when in apks your command promt will read c:\ext> and you should type following command
c:\ext>dir /s /b > print.txt
this will create a text file called print.txt in apks folder containing list of all apks, now minimize the command prompt
3. now do a simple replace of "C:\" in print.txt by pressing CTRL+H to "adb install -r c:\" (ignore double quotes)

4. next rename your print.txt as print.bat by simply entering
c:\ext>ren print.txt print.bat
now close the command prompt
5. go to adb shell on your PC's command prompt and enter following command
c:\ext\print.bat
your command will show following success commands

thats it... all your apks will be installed in one go

blured border using photoshop

Now use the Rectangular Marquee selection tool and make a selection around the whole picture, except the area that you want to blur. You will than see the marching ants will be displayed.

Now it is time to Feather and curve the selection. When you Feather it extends beyond the selection and gradually blurs the edge.

Left click the “Select” menu and move the mouse pointer to “Modify”. Move the mouse pointer to the “Feather…” command and Left click.

A dialog box will be displayed. The Feather Radius is how far beyond the selection you want it to blur. For this tutorial, please enter 25 for the amount of pixels and Left click the “OK” button. Usually, a Feather Radius of 15-30 looks good.

Currently you are telling Photoshop to blur everything inside the selection. We need to change that so it blurs outside the selection. Left click the “Select” menu and Left click the “Inverse” command. Photoshop Tip – You could also use the keyboard shortcut by holding down the “Shift” key on the keyboard and the “CTRL” key and pressing the “I” key. Release the “Shift” and “CTRL” key on the keyboard.

You will see 2 sets of marching ants. Anything in between the 2 sets of marching ants will now be affected.

Press the “Delete” or “Del” key on the keyboard to blur the border. Use CTRL-“D” to deselect the selection. Here is our end result for the basic blurred border.

cPanel – Setup Google Apps MX, CNAME and SPF records

Since Google Apps is one of the best (if not the best) email services out there, here is how you can setup your domain, which you have its DNS managed by Arvixe, to point to Google.

This blog post presumes you’ve already setup your Google Apps account and that you are just now doing the finishing touches (ie. final DNS settings to have Google handle your emails). If you’ve setup your Google Apps account correctly, this final step will put the finishing touch and allow Google to handle all your emails needs.

For this to be done, you’ll need to setup three DNS records:

MX records, thus telling the world, who handles email for your domain (ie. Google).
CNAME record, so that if you type mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain with your own domain name – like mail.shai-arvixe.com), it points to Google Apps login page.
SPF record to tell the world that Google is allowed to handle emails for your domain (this helps other mail servers know that Google is allowed and thus, help prevent filtering emails from you as spam).

Note: the links above point to Google’s own help articles, respectively.

Edit DNS zone records:

In your control panel, click on Domains and then on the domain name in question (picture 1)

Now click on Edit DNS zone records (picture 2)

First, delete the mail A record and the default TXT record by clicking the Red X to the right on the respective row (picture 3)

MX Records:

Click the pencil icon to the left of the first MX record to set the default record to a higher value (higher means lower priority), we don’t want to delete it, since we don’t want to interrupt current mail connectivity if such exists (picture 1)

Change current value of 10 (ten) to 20 (twenty) and click Save (picture 2)

Now go to Google’s MX Records page and begin entering new records, one at a time. Click Add record (picture 4)

Pick MX from the drop-down box, enter the record in the Record Data field and enter the priority in the MX Priority field (picture 4)

Repeat this step for all the MX records that Google provide in the aforementioned link.

Note: Don’t enter the . (period) at the end of each record (as Google says, since our DNS doesn’t need it.

At the end, you should have something like (picture 5)

CNAME Record:

Now go to Google’s CNAME Records page and begin entering new records, one at a time. Click Add Record (picture 1)

Pick CNAME from the drop-down box, type mail in the Record Name field and ghs.google.com in the Record Data field (picture 2)

You can now also add docs, sites and calendar CNAMEs as well (picture 3)

SPF Record:

Google recommends that you add the following SPF record to your DNS zone. Click Add record, pick TXT from the drop-down box, copy/paste the record into the Record Data field (picture 1)

Get faster speed through Dataone connection by changing DNS settings

At times BSNL Dataone just seems to lousy, and the sites just wont load in one try, and you need to refresh it mutiple times to finally help that site load.

Here is a simple workaround to significantly speed up your DNS resolution.

Follow the steps given below and you should be through.

Step 1: click on the network connection icon at the right bottom corner near clock and then on open network and sharing centre as marked red in the picture below.

Step 2: click on change adaptor settings in the window that pops up.

Step 3: Right click on your LAN adaptor and then on properties, as applicable to you, as you may be using wired or wireless connection.

Step 4: click on TCP/IP 4 and then click on Properties to change them.

Step 5: In the window that pops up change the DNS settings as shown below and click OK. The DNS values are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220(at times a connection restart may be required for the settings to take effect)

The service is provided by OpenDNS.

read .dbk file from Sony Ericsson Backup

simply rename your backup file from SE-PCS like backup1.dbk to backup1.zip and extract it like an ordinary zip file. Thats it and now you can recover your back up from the extracted files.

Paid to Click (PTC) seems like a simple way to make some easy money sitting back at your home and giving it a little bit of time ranging from 5 minutes to 50 minutes as you wish. I came across this site around a six months ago, and did not consider registering there. A friend of mine, Rahul introduced me to this really cool concept. I have been here on Internet for 7-8 years and never ever did I buy this idea to make money in advertising and all...... For ages i have used Google's Adsense on my site for virtually no returns.

I'm not sure how but I came across this site once again, around a month and half ago, may be while reading some blog or something. I thought why not give it a try and so got myself registered on it. I registered and started with it and was starting to get a bit restless looking at the speed at which the dollars were accumulating, but my calculation suggested that the process would be slow only for 20 days, as then i can rent 3 referrals and thats what I did. Of course there are ways to increase the profit, you can get people to enroll with your referral and they become your free referrals for life. Have about 10-15 of them and your click efficiency of referral clicks moves high.

My calculations at an extremely pessimistic view showz that at the end of 7-8 months I should be able to make more than 100-110$ per month. Yes its a bit big time frame and its not going to make me a millionaire. And Im going to stick to this. After all, I've already made the money I've spent on this one :)

Tips in Succeeding in Paid to Click
1. Find 5-10 trusted sites that you can visit every day. Look for sites that have a consistent amount of ads every day and have a good history pf paying on time. Keep a close eye on your sites. A site that was great last month may be sold or go away next month.
2. Refer everyone you know to your downline. You can send direct links for friends; family or create a site like mine where they can sign up for the sites they like all in one place. Don't expect everyone to sign up right away but some may sign up later when they see you success.

6. Never give up! It takes time to develop a strong downline and sticking to it every day is the only way to achieve it.
7. Never view adverts of same site from same PC, your account will be suspended or even if it is not, then you wont get your payout, so be ware, BE HONEST, it's business and rules need to be followed.

Rock On - Live it now, don't wait

A movie that I saw sooo late that it was hard for the world to digest, I started feeling as if I had committed some crime and the whole world was against me for not watching Rock On, but finally in the end when I gathered courage to watch it, it was worth watching. Though it had nothing for me to feel that I’m enjoying the film, as I never actually felt that I should watch this shot again, watch this song again, or this was a WOW sequence, but then I never felt like turning it away, it had a kind of enticement that didn’t let me move away from a single shot or sequence in the movie. I usually run through a movie in 10-15 minutes and if it has a beautiful heroine like Asin or Hazel then it might take 20-25 minutes, but here was a movie that took my full 2 hours and 25 minutes and I actually kind of liked the presentation. It was a movie worth watching, the environment was too good, may it be Aditya’s house, his office, the band’s work place or the Joseph’s place, a perfectly presented idea.

It was a tough ask to decide what the movie was about, was it about youth, its struggle, its music, its friendship, its relationships, or its priorities. I would term it as a movie about all of the above that were beautifully knit, the film was about young friends who had a passion and wanted to make a living out of their passion, but not everybody is blessed enough to pursue a life of his/her choice. The circumstances unfold in a manner where one is forced to decide about the priorities and options available, and people either move on or just wait their whole life for things to get right and end up losing it all in the process.

The film recalled few things and showed some very gentle and soft settings where one feels, it’s all about moving on. But then when you finally move on, it leaves a space that is hollow, unfulfilled, occupied by some dreams and hope that it will all be fine one day, coz a great actor in a bolywood block buster said "picture abhi baaki hai mere dost". It is immaterial whether you move on or wait, those dreams become nightmares and keep haunting you till they are fulfilled. One of the four friends decided to stay back and fight while his life became living hell. The other three decided to move on and were doing well in their life but still that empty space was not letting them enjoy the success, those nightmares, were still haunting them after ten years, and life for them too was no different from heavenish hell.

All the characters in the movie had something to say, a dream to fulfill, and a space to fill. The wife seeing her husband singing with his band, flirting with a girl in his younger days, realizes the cause of emptiness in her married life and doesn’t just goes out crying, instead understands that anybody and everybody has a past of sorts, what matters is how is the present and makes an effort to make him meet those he loved and enjoyed with, and wants him to do what he likes the most; sing. Another wife tries to help her husband get a hold of his life and come out of the trauma of missing his band and not being able to do what he always wanted to, she takes care of his family business, isn’t this what marriages are supposed to be. A person suffering from tumor, waiting for his death, living with a last hope that some day he'll play with his band, is it that big a ask from life. A person overwhelmed to hear about a person who shares name and birth date with his best friend, isn’t this what friendship is all about. Friends part, love is lost and the girl gets married to a member of rival band, isn’t this what life is all about, compromises, finding happiness, looking at the remaining half glass, just move on, nobody’s indispensable, life goes on, it never stops.

All in all a very well presented issue, a very well presented idea, a thumbs up for Abhishek Kapoor for doing such a great job with story, screenplay and direction. Music of the film was superb, though it was a direct inspiration from English rock numbers with 'socha hai kya tumne kabhi', being a straight lift from ‘back to you’ by Bryan Adams, but still Shankar Ehsaan Loy deserve some credit to have recomposed it. The loop hole or the weak link of the movie was singing and lyrics, a movie revolving around music needs good music, good lyrics, and powerful singing, to make the compositions great. Farhaan’s voice is so weak, he can’t even talk properly and trying to sing, OK he did the slow number 'tum ho toh' well, but then anyone can sing those ones, even Jatin sung 'rooth ke humse' well in JJWS, but that didn't make him spoil other songs, Farhaan's voice just doesnt has that energy, that power to shout and match a crowd 20-25 thousand fans. Anybody and everybody can sing Sonu and Shaan's numbers, even i can, but it takes a real effort, a real singer to put his feet in AR Rehmaan, Sukhwinder or KK's shoes, this was an album that could only have been served justice had it been done by KK. It is ridiculous for a person of Farhaan’s intelligence and knowledge to commit a blunder like Himesh Reshamiya. I mean I know how do I look, how do I sound, even a kid knows it did in exams, and what are it's strengths and weaknesses. How can these professionals not know where they stand, why do they all want to sing and show themselves on silver screen, why can’t they just do what they are good at and let the specialists do what they should.

Richard Marx’s number ‘keep coming back’ really sums up the movie well, “You know a place buried deep in my heart, Nobody else can see, Something in you has taken some kind of hold on me, I don't know why I keep coming back to you”. So simple and so true, you need to go back and fill in that hollow space, that emptiness before you can again be happy, and that’s what all the friends did, they got together for that one performance they missed, and were all regretting for ten long years.

DASVIDANIYA - the best goodbye ever

Dasvidaniya another winner from Vinay Pathak, and yes it is his first production venture. Some people have that thing, that Midas touch, like Vinay Pathak, Ranveer Shorey, Irfan Khan, Rahul Bose who just turn anything they do into a special treat, and specifically in situational comedies that too very contemporary topics. Dasvidaniya, I came across this movie due to this typical song mumma, and then “alvida” was the one that took me away by a storm, and I realized that Kailash Kher too is blessed with that touch, may it be a song from days when he was a mere amateur, allah ke bande to teri deewani to mumma or “alvida”, or even saiyaan for that matter, and how can I not mention jalwa re jalwa from Sarkaar Raaj, he has emerged a winner. “alvida” is such a true song; it’s about truth and accepting that truth bravely.

This movie Dasvidaniya, I always assumed to be a follow up to Bheja fry, and so always thought that it'd be a continuation of where Bheja Fry left us. Frankly I had no idea what Dasvidaniya meant until I saw the movie, I always thought it must be some variant of Bheja Fry in Bengali. But to my shock in the title itself I was very much assured that this film was going to be much more serious and mature than Bheja Fry coz Dasvidaniya means goodbye and the movie carries a tag line the best goodbye ever. I had those notions going through me that it will have a sad end and I better get up and leave it. But then I had full trust in Vinay and his team, that even if they make you cry it'll not be because an aamir khan is crying with a kid for some reason that doesn’t really cater to masses, it'll be because you'll feel attached to this character, you’ll cry because an ordinary man is hurt.
Bheja Fry came some time back and was an out and out comedy, a movie where you laugh like crazy, even when you are watching it alone. Bharat Bhushan was a singer who used to carry his scrapbook with all his songs, poems and pictures, and the manner in which he used to pack it and keep it so safely in so many packets and the noise those packets would make twice each time he would take out his scrapbook and twice he would pack his scrapbook. Situational comedy(Sitcom) to me has been best form of comedy that is always very true and you really relate to it and laugh that much more, coz you see yourself in it(I really never ever liked govinda’s foohad kind of comedy), how can one leave out Friends out of the list of Sitcoms, the best sitcom series ever.
While Bheja Fry was out and out comedy, Dasvidaniya has more than mere comedy to it, it has sorrow, it has tragedy, and above all it connects to you and the shots that opened the movie were so real that one could feel there itself ki it is me. Amar making his to-do lists, a loving mother so very disturbed for TV or remote not working. It was all so real in the first frame itself, and then the boss, he was so very mumbaiya... I was touched by the movie and just can’t imagine how people can do such work that is so real.
For me when Amar comes to know about his cancer, one could feel him saying, FUCK, this cannot happen to me, I'm not like this, it isn’t meant for me, this is not how it was meant to be, what happens to my mom, his arguments with the doctor were so very real and justified coz these arguments were his last hope. How often we get stuck up in situations where we just pray that something happens and the nightmare breaks…. I like songs and the way “alvida” was infused into the storyline was just how a song should be recognized and respected and treated.
What I liked was Amar's quest to win back, or rather say goodbye to whatever he lost all his life at various stages. In his urge to say those three magical words to his childhood and only love Neha, he ends up playing with her daughter and having dinner with her husband and mother-in-law, and that was really the only option he had, and then when he finally conveyed those feelings, for which he waited all his life, one could feel the sense of accomplishment and sense of losing it forever. This is what these movies nowadays manage to portray, which was no way visible in those silly days of black and white movies, when dilip kumar was assumed to be a great actor. Even Neha’s reaction was so very well measured and presented when she got the message from Amar, it was all too real to take. The way Amar told her that he loved her all his life and the way he left the place without complicating the matters for a married lady and left without even talking or listening to her, one can still feel the emotion.
To me the most touching scene was encounter with his brother at home. I mean they were actually fighting over issues from their past, which were so common and close to everybody’s life, younger brother going for a love marriage and elder brother sacrificing his dreams, to take better care of an ill mother, and Amar just trying to convince Vivek to take their mom with him, without once again complicating the issues and crying out loud that he was dying, just trying to convince that its now the younger bro’s responsibility to take care of their mother. And then when Vivek actually comes to know about Amar’s illness and cries main aapko nahi marne doonga, again a kind of emotion where a person is crying I don’t want to lose it, GOD just save me this time, I’ll never ever do anything wrong, I’ll never leave my mom and bro; that for me has been the scene that can make anybody feel what it is like, losing a loved one; that too me, is being family, despite of all the differences, relations are above everything else.
Amar’s relation with his Dr. Friend was so touching, how they were chatting in their silly coded language when they talked over phone, after a long gap, Amar going all the way to see his friend once before Dasvidaniya, I could easily relate to why a person like me came down to a place like a community site from google, it’s all about friends. And an emotion that could have gone unnoticed, but for Rajat Kapoor, who has played each of the characters he ever took with full loyalty and hardly seems to act in a role, he just lives that role, how so ever small it may be. Remember his role in Bheja Fry, where he was stuck up between his wife whom he really loved and his girl friend whom he got involved with but was regretting the relationship, and who actually was a good guy by nature, yes had a bit of arrogance, but deep down loved his wife and was not such a bad person. He once again sprung up a great effort. His getting caught up between his wife and a real childhood friend about to die, trying to convince Amar to stay and get treatment, just trying to repay the bada wala tu rakh le, that Amar gave him all his life, but knowin that it was all too late. A movie I have watched more times than Bheja Fry and Delhi Heights and Bachna Aie Haseenon, and recent one Dil Kabaddi(but yes less than Dil Se re dil se re, SRK mind-buster), and don’t mind watching if I come across it here and there.

Rahman, Yuvvraaj and Ghajini - deadly combo

A R Rahman is back with a bang, with twin weapon, where in Ghajini he sounds like Classical South Indian of Rahman, in Yuvvraaj he shows his is true mettle Rahman, what he's made off and what can he do. HAIL Rahman, for quite some time there were good songs, courtesy new kids on the block like Atif and Mustafa, supported by contemporary seniors like KK and of-course Mahesh Bhatt, but the rich, the gala, the orchestra, the symphony was missing, also since I've left south, I was missing that typical south touch, that we had for films like rangeel, humse hai muqabla, and the like.

Great Job Man, you truly rock. Ghajini is a movie I've been waiting for, for more than one reasons, one it was a remake from south(they are generally good, at least I like them), then Asin(shes a mallu), then yes Aamir's new look(has nothing to do with Aamir, its just the look). The first song aired had some good music and Asin was looking good as expected, but only after i got my hands on the music of Ghajini was I actually able to feel good for music. In a very simple song like tu meri adhuri pyaas, also Rahman can do wonders. only he can think of using two voices even in a straight forward song like this, and he infuses life in a song when he actually does it. I hate Sonu Nigam at a personal level because he puts too much in his singing where nothing is needed, he doesn't sound relaxed when he sings, and yes I hate him that extra bit because of aapno Sandeep Acharya, but this is what a maestro like Rahman can do, he doesn't go by stature of a singer, but gets what he wants from them, and uses them only to an extent up to what they are required. Even Sonu Nigam can be found doing a chorus and playing a supporting role in this opening song tu meri adhuri pyaas, to Javed Ali, the lead singer in the song, Great job man. Then next song to be aired was behka, a typical A R Rahman southish dose, but a good number. All in all a good compilation to go with a remake from south.

But then this was the real one that not only inspired me but actually forced me to write this, yes its A R Rahman at his best and at his biggest. In fact he also eseems to enjoy a big orchestra, and when his music gets a canvas that only someone like Subhash Ghai, or Sanjay Leela Bhansali can give here and may be Priya'n back home in south. It seems from the promos that both Ghai and Rahman have enjoyed the music and canvas, and whats more, for a change Gulzar's lyrics (the geela geela paani kind of) have real rich music to go with them. I remember Maachis was a movie where the music was rich and lyrics were by Gulzar. Anyhow I've always felt that Gulzar's lyrics are perfect match for Rahman's music, the synergy was evident in Dil Se (my personal favorite movie, music was also good, but SRK is another GOD in entertainment industry). All the tracks of Yuvvraaj were meant for a theatrical presentation and needed a larger than life canvas to be painted and Subhash Ghai really has given A R Rahman his due for creating such a symphonic treat. I have written earlier also that i hate Sonu at a personal level still Rahman has again used him so beautifully, and credit goes to Rahman alone for these great scores.

This time I felt Rahman has gone a step further in making use of chorus that has always been instrumental in pumping that extra bit in his songs, remember mustafa mustafa or jiya jale, or even those early days of roja, he just uses chorus so beautifully, and in fact he has been pioneer of using male chorus voice regularly, which was never given its due share. This person knows how to toy around with all the sounds that he can get, may it be a budiya ki awaz from roja, or the huge orchestra that he uses to create such beautiful symphonies, or an over smart extra effort Sonu or for that matter even a dhali hui, bhooli bisri Lata. He can use any kind of sound he's given. Then again on topic of going a step further in terms of chorus, he has started using full time, full fledged singers like himself, sonu and others as instruments to create melody, just listen to tu meri adhuri pyaas and infact all the numbers from Yuvvraaj, he has used the singers like instruments, and they have sounded really incredible.
I would love to see him do a number like Govinda Govinda from Sarkar, if ever Ramu gathers courage to do a Sarkar-3 (it is a tough ask but expect the unexpected from Ramu). back to Yuvvraaj I had actually started hating Subhash Ghai flicks after Ram lakhan, then yes with Khalnayak he actually started doing blunders, and Trimurti was end of his thought process and show-man image, accept for background score for on screen Anil Kapoor, and SRK and Anjali, I would not have been able to motivate my self to sit in theatre, and yes such a blunder came during "those were the best days of my life", I mean I could not understand where could something have probably gone wrong, when people like Subhash Ghai (acclaimed Showman), Mukul S Anand (who can forget tthe great Agneepath, probably ABs only movie that i liked), Anil Kapoor (munna bhai), Jacki Shroff (Ghai's Hero), and SRK (the only person who could have challenged AB, while he was still in business, and yes my favourite) are sitting and working together. Oh my GOD, what a blunder. And since then it was downhill for the Showman, with Yaadein (everybody attached to it would wish he had not signed the film). But this time once again the canvas looks good painting is done well, the Symphony is at its Rahman best, so probably should be a good show, i have no doubts that the film will Bomb, but should probably should be a audio-visual treat definetly. For me I'am still gathering courage to watch the movie, i'm afraid that would A R Rahman's music be able to save me from a likely massacre.
I'm surely lining up Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Ghajini.

double click does not open the drive

today a friend came up with a problem that i had witnessed a few months ago on the institutes computer. a problem related to the kind of problem that we face with the pen drive so often where double clicking does not open up the drive instead just opens up the option box to select what should be used to open this drive and blah blaahh blllaaahh.
Actually what happens is that there are smarter viruses that don't exactly perform a virus act but do some thing that is quite normal, like creating an autorun file, and file does not contain complete information so when a drive is double clicked it goes to the autorun file and does not get anything there and ultimately the drive does not open. here are a few tools that can recover a PC suffering from such problems.
just download and run'em, they'll take care of everything. any ONE should do the trick.

I’m not sure about the earlier ones but this is the one they’re distributing right now.

Step 1. Plug-in the line from splitter to LINE(marked 1 in screenshot below), desktop to LAN1 (marked 2 in screenshot below) and line from adapter in POWER (marked 3 in screen shot below)

Step 2. Now, go to network connections (Start -->Control Panel -->Network and Internet Connections --> Network Connections) and right click LAN connection -->Properties -->Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) -->Properties and fill in details as shown below in screen shot.

IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Preferred DNS Server: 61.1.96.69
Alternate DNS Server: 61.1.96.71

Step 3. Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1 in address bar, and key in username and password as shown in screen shot. Fig 9

Step 4. Click on advanced -->WAN in the left hand panel, and configure as shown below.

Step 5. Click on advanced -->LAN in the left hand panel, and configure as shown below.

That’s it your done save and reboot your modem.

Here the tutorial splits into two, do you want your connection to be always ON (all you need is turn on the modem and you’re automatically connected to internet) or conventional kind where in you key in a user ID and password to connect.

Case I: Key in a user ID and password to connect.

Step 6. Go to Start -->Control Panel -->Network and Internet Connections --> Network Connections in the left hand panel click on “create a new connection” and follow as shown below.

Case II: Always ON internet.

Step 6. Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1 in address bar, and key in username and password

In the right hand panel go to Advanced -->WAN and tick all VPI/VCI combinations except 0/35 and press remove button as shown in the screenshot

Save your changes and reboot the router, after reboot you should be automatically connected to the internet without dialing PPPoE dialer from the computer.

You can download preconfigured file and go to your modem setup after step 3 and got to Management -->settings -->update and browse to the following file (click here to download)

Once updated go to Advanced -->WAN --> and edit VPI/VCI 0/35 and keep on pressing next and just change the user ID: demodata and password; demodata to your ID and password.

Faulting application “svchost exe”

This problem comes up every now and then with XP SP2, and has grown in numbers recently due to recent virus attacks. The computer works fine for 2-5 minutes and then XP theme is reset, it goes to classic windows theme and comes back to XP theme, and as a result disconnects internet. A restart fixes the problem but it runs for 2-5 minutes and again “Faulting application svchost.exe, version 5.1.2600.2180, faulting module netapi32.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0×0000a3c0.”

When you go to bring up the status of the connection from the taskbar by double clicking the icon, it would flash up and disappear and only way out is to restart computer to get back online. But then, again, it only connect me for 2-5 minutes and then the shitty error message popped up again disconnecting my internet connection and I was back to where I were. This errors kept happening with msg faulting netapi32.dll and svchost.exe.

I read at several places about the same error and in most of cases it all started on saturday, 9 september 2006. This could be a new virus that makes you become really frustated. I infact went on to format my computer, but the shitty error keep coming and coming.
Since then, there are many ppl got this error and it numbers keep increasing everyday. I came across the solutionon net and thought of putting it on my blog so that next time atleast i dont have to go out lookin for it. All you’ve got to do is to close port 135 and 445. So here’s what you’ve got to do:

How to close port 445
Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) by clicking Start menu, and then click the Run icon.
In the small box that Opens, type: regedit then click the OK button.
The Registry Editor will now have opened…
Locate the following key in the registry:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBT\Parameters
In the right-hand side of the window find an option called TransportBindName.
Double click that value, and then delete the default value, thus giving it a blank value.

How to close port 135
The you must now navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OLE
You will see there is a String Value called: EnableDCOM
Set the value to: N (it should currently be Y)
Close the Registry Editor.
Shutdown and Restart your computer.

Boxing Day

December 26, 2007 is celebrated as Boxing Day in Australia, Britain, New Zealand, and Canada.

Boxing Day began in England, in the middle of the nineteenth century, under Queen Victoria. Boxing Day, also known as St. Stephen's Day, was a way for the upper class to give gifts of cash, or other goods, to those of the lower classes. There are a few etymologies that define origin of Boxing Day. Few of them compiled from various sources on NET are.

During the Age of Exploration, when great sailing ships were setting off to discover new land, A Christmas Box was used as a good luck device. It was a small container placed on each ship while it was still in port. It was put there by a priest, and those crewmen who wanted to ensure a safe return would drop money into the box. It was then sealed up and kept on board for the entire voyage. If the ship came home safely, the box was handed over to the priest in the exchange for Mass of thanks for the success of the voyage. The Priest would keep the box sealed until Christmas when he would open it to share the contents with the poor.
An 'Alms Box' was placed in every church on Christmas Day, into which worshippers placed a gift for the poor of the parish. These boxes were always opened the day after Christmas, which is why that day became to be known as Boxing Day.
Many poorly paid workers were required to work on Christmas Day and took the following day off to visit their families. As they prepared to leave, their employers would present them with Christmas boxes. During the late 18th century, Lords and Ladies of the manor would "box up" their leftover food, or sometimes gifts and distribute them the day after Christmas to tenants who lived and worked on their lands.

And the tradition still continues today...... The tradition of giving money to workers still continues today. It is customary for householders to give small gifts or monetary tips to regular visiting trades people (the milkman, dustman, coalman, paper boy etc.) and, in some work places, for employers to give a Christmas bonus to employees. Schools across the country gather together gifts to be put in Christmas Boxes that are sent to poorer countries.

Despite of being such a big occasion and public holiday in Christian Community (at least in Australia, Britain, New Zealand, and Canada), in America it is not that big a occasion and very few Americans are engaged in celebrating or following the rituals of Boxing Day.

Kimi - the Maverick (an unbelievable turnaround)

Life takes one full circle for Ferrari, and they win the title in pretty much the same way they lost it last year, to the hands of fortune. Kimi (Kimi – the Maverick) this time has got the driver’s title back in Ferrari’s camp.

Last season saw the retirement of God of F-1 and Ferrari, Michael Schumacher, and it seemed in the initial couple of races of 2007 season that Ferrari were left wanting for a ‘Number 1’ driver in the Team, and they were not sure if they should call their senior driver (Massa), the ‘Number 1’ or the senior driver according to experience in F-1 (Kimi), the ‘Number 1’. In fact after a couple of races Ferrari even said that they don’t have any ‘Number 1’ driver in the Team, and they’ll not be giving any driver, any orders to help or sacrifice for the other driver. (In F-1 racing it is an unofficial practice to call the winner driver the ‘Number 1’, and the other driver may informally be given orders to drop a race for partner or block some other driver to cover up their ‘Number 1’ driver.)

Same was the problem with McLaren, but their problem came after 8-10 races. On one side they had double World Champion Alonso, who was the best driver in whole of the F-1 world after Schumacher’s retirement last season, and was almost looking invincible, and on the other hand they had fresh blood in Hamilton, who was all set to create History by being the first Rookie ever to win World Championship. What started happening after first round was that the kid started converting his podium finishes to Number one finishes and was star all of a sudden, and the team also started taking care of the Rookie, as they had found a Star and were developing and nurturing him, which no ‘Number 1’ driver can take, that though I’m the ‘Number 1’, everybody is praising and supporting young Rookie (Hamilton). Slowl but steadily with advent of every single race the split was getting wider and wider, and was visible even in their racing on track, in qualifiers and shamefully even in the pits.

Anyhow, my favorite is Ferrari and why the hell should I write so much about McLaren on my Blog. So let’s start with 2006. Season that saw retirement of a real God in any Sport (not some shit like Tendulkar).

Ferrari over last 3 years has been a very good Case-study of motivation and team work. Come season 2006 and Schumacher was coming from a very bad season (2005) according to his standards, but all the fault was not his, Ferrari had a very dismal car in 2005 and nobody on earth could have got them even what they got. 2006 was a pressure season for Schumi as the media started throwing all the trash that was due Ferrari on Schumi, and he and Ferrari had to perform this year. Ferrari again gave him a car that was not as fast as Renault or McLaren, but Schumi did well to hang on to the points (8,3,-,-), in first four races but then started gathering his act in second semi-season , i.e. after first testing, Ferrari came back strongly and gave Schumi a car that was a winner, and Schumi also like a true winner responded by a couple of wins, but then again Ferrari lost its way, as can be seen in the comparative chart between Schumi (MSC) and Alonso (ALS).

In second half of the season Ferrari hit back hard and took Alonso and Renault by storm winning 5 out of next 7 races and scoring 56 from maximum 70 possible, and tied the scores with Alonso at 116. And with only two races to go, it seemed that nobody could stop Ferrari and Schumi now from adding another on to their cap. But, odds went against and Schumacher had a minor accident in penultimate race, leaving him on 116 points and Alonso in that race scored 10 and was sitting pretty on 126. That was not all in last race too Schumi’s car kissed another car and his tire punctured, that too just at start of lap (around 20-25% mark) and he had to take that punctured tire one full lap to get into pits and was almost a lap down on all other cars (17-18 in all), but then came our Hero Schumi out of pits and drove the car as if he was a Shah Rukh Khan and that was a race where Schumacher showed why he ruled F-1 for almost a decade, from being a lap down he just thrashed every driver, and overtook everybody as if everybody else was driving a luxury car, and there was only one F-1 car on the track. The HERO could not win his last race but that day he won over a million hearts there on the track and billions around the globe. That truly was a race that I thought I would never forget. But Kimi had other ideas, this year’s final race too was a cliffhanger it broke 21 year old record, where off three drivers in last race anybody could have won the championship title.

Come 2007, and Ferrari & F1 saw a new generation taking charge of F1. F1 had Hamilton, McLaren had Alonso, Ferrari had Massa taking up the charge and then Maverick Kimi for once in his life getting a car that didn’t had reliability issues. I always personally felt that Kimi was a kind of match winner, as he only knows one thing once he is in cockpit of an F1, and that is drive out of skin, and he is one driver who is not scared to throw himself on track from one corner to other, or get off racing line to surprise you with an overtaking maneuver. And in a sense I was a bit worried and surprised, as was everybody else with Ferrari picking a driver who was as adventurous as Kimi and had a reputation of not finishing races.

But to everybody’s surprise and that too for good, Kimi matured like anything before even starting this season. He drove like a champion this season, and kicked off the season with a win and 10 points in first race itself, but then seemed a bit patchy in next 5-6 races, as compared to his counterpart in Ferrari, Massa, as Massa started winning races and soon left Kimi and everybody into believing that Ferrari had finally found a number 1 in team. But Kimi had other ideas and Maverick was not letting it go just like that, he responded to Massa’s call by scoring back to back wins, and taking him on for number 1 driver in team.

In mid season they were almost inseparable, but in second round Kimi drove like a champion, somewhat like what Schumi used to do for Ferrari and almost looked invincible and went on to score 58 points in last seven races out of maximum 70 that anybody could’ve scored as compared to 35 scored by his counterpart in Ferrari, and 41 and 39 scored by Alonso and Hamilton. A comparison of top three drivers shows that Kimi never looked in the same league of the other two but it was a miracle that he pulled out of nowhere. In spite of scoring 38 points in five races (race 11 through 15) Kimi only had 90 points, and with only two race to go forget Championship as 17 points separated Hamilton and Kimi, Number 2 also was far off (due to Alonso’s form of late). Even Gods with all the powers that they have could have imagined that Kimi had even an outside chance of getting the Title. But Maverick had other ideas, remember “Jo Jeeta wohi Sikander”, wher Aamir - spoilt brat, was down and out, all the movie, but in the end he was the one who got his father and school all the lost glory. Same was the case here.

All of the F1 world moves to penultimate race in Shanghai, all set to Crown its first ever Rookie Driver, who is looking all set to get crowned with one race to go, and starts off the weekend perfectly according to script and gets pole position, for Race-day. Come Race-day five lights illuminate and go off and Hamilton is looking good to get title here itself. Almost half the race is done and preparations have started for celebrating Crowning of first ever Rookie Driver. Just then . . . . God’s smile and bring in a tiny little miscalculation in McLaren’s planning of keeping Hamilton on wrong set of tires misinterpreting rain that started to come down. As a result Hamilton faces a tire failure and first ever retirement this whole season, leaving him with no points from race and Kimi getting the Max, with scores now getting a bit interesting. Kimi at 100, Hamilton at 107 and Alonso at 103 (with a second place in a shockingly miscalculated race by McLaren). Still with these scores everybody was putting his money on Hamilton, followed by Alonso, and maybe some risk takers were favoring Kimi.

World moves to finish some unfinished business to Interlagos. Qualifying day and everybody runs as if there’s no tomorrow, and the grid is looking just what the doctor ordered for Hamilton and Alonso. Only way Kimi can win is

Scenario (i) He finishes Second, Hamilton doesn’t finish higher than 8^th and Alonso doesn’t finish higher than 4^th. Now it is easy for Kimi to finish Second but the problem is that he is third on the starting grid, with Massa taking away the Pole in his Home Grand Prix. Also, even if he finishes Second, it is not possible to stop Hamilton from finishing above 8^th, or even Alonso finishing above 5^th.

Scenario (ii) He finishes First, Hamilton doesn’t finish higher than 6^th and Alonso doesn’t finish higher than 3^rd. Again he can finish First but to Stop other two is not easy.

All said, done and calculated, first and foremost Kimi need to ensure that he finishes in Top Two, when he is third on starting grid. The five lights illuminate for the last time in 2007 and go off for the last time in 2007 kicking off the first race in 21 years where three potential championship contenders were racing in final race of season. First corner is greasy on the side where car 2 and 4 start and using this to great effect Kimi overtakes the McLaren at the very first corner, and is now second in the race with an outside chance of winning the title for the first time in his career. But that’s not all; there are other things that need to work out in his favor that are not exactly in his hand. Having said that he has played his part to start with. The intra team rivalry between Alonso and Hamilton that has hurt McLaren all this season more than anything else, again takes charge of McLaren’s fate, and both its drivers go wheel to wheel not ready to part with a point, and Hamilton drives off road losing balance and loses places as a result, and has to regroup himself, while all seemed to be in control he again loses it and falls to the back of all cars on track, and has to start from literally last position, and has to move up to a scoring position. In the mean while a lil bit of on track rivalry was also evident in Ferrari camp when Massa held on to the first place in his Home Grand Prix, denying Kimi chance to score a perfect 10. First round of pit stops is over and Alonso looks pretty to score his third Championship as he would score 6 from current position and move to 109 while Kimi from current position would only score 8 and move to 108, while Hamilton was looking down and out at 107. But with Second round of pit stops starting and Massa pitting in from lead and a gap of 2-2.5 secs. Kimi puts in a couple of stunning laps to wipe those 2-2.5 secs. that Massa had when he went in, and then Kimi pits from lead, stops are almost same length, but Massa just fumbled a bit on his out lap and lost no more than half a second, but that was enough for Kimi to turn the tables, and with a perfect in and out into the pits Kimi joins the race in front of Massa and this was the best he could have done for himself, now it was left to luck and as is said Luck favors the brave Alonso finished 3^rd and Hamilton 7^th and Kimi won the race according to the second scenario. But it must be said that turning point of not only this race but also of the season were those 2-3 laps that Kimi put in when Massa pitted, those laps were the kind of laps that one associated with Michael Schumacher, laps that were a second, second and half faster than anybody else on track. HAIL Kimi, hopefully hes learning fast to fit in Schumacher’s shoes.

I was a die hard fan of Sandeep Acharya Indian Idol last year (may be because his voice resembled Udit's voice and I was a die hard fan of Udit too once upon a time). It was only bonus that sandeep was a Bikaneri, his humbeness, his smile, his innocence and definetly smoothness his voice were somethingnthat enchanted not only whole Bikaner but also to an extent whole India.
This year it was yet another singer who resembled Sandeep in more than one ways, he too came from a small town, had smooth and silky voice, was always smiling just like our very own Sandeep, and infact has been blessed that he has lost only in final, as if had gone on to becaome an Indian Idol, then these Sony people would have torn his career apart in one year of contract. Now he is free to go ahead and make his career. Thanks you Shit-pot Sony people who treated Sandeep so bad.
In fact Amit Paul has that personality, charisma and spark that can and I'm sure will take him ne step further. To me Sony's Indian Idol was a platform that Amit used with good precision, and just when things might have gone wrong had he won that Title, he was blessed and that other joker who can't speak hindi, and can't even sing a damn simple song, has been cursed with Indian Idol where Sony will make him sing for one full year in every single Star get-together.
Its not that I don't like Sony or Indian Idol but the problem is with their contract where they kill the singer's talent, otherwise sony's competeiton has that best look in all its other counterparts. It looks rich, its judges look rich in that sponsored Attire, its contestants look glamorous, but in its other two counterparts those judges look so (not nahaye for years), their sets thogh very costly, but yet look so very shaadi(ish), and their contestants all look as if they have come here to earn money to clear their father's debts or win money so that they can get their mother cured. Nobody elsewhere seems to enjoy the moment. Its too too reality to be true.

The Fast and the Furious - and the STYLISH

If you think 'Dhoom' was fun, you gotta see the source of inspiration for the plot, yes it was 2001, Vin Diesel starrer, smash hit 'The Fast and the Furious'. And if you really like fast paced action that is not simply going out all guns but instead it is soft, smooth and dance like, fast paced action then 'The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift' is strictly a DO NOT MISS. Driving in this movie is music to your eyes. The Director, Stunt man crew and Special effect team has done something that compares to the real like special effects of X-Men and Matrix.

The film is visually so very well managed, the colors keep you fresh, music keeps you hip hopped, and yes the drifts keep you on the edge of your seat and make you wanna dance. Lucas Black is so down to earth and yet a stylish guy with a great sense of Humor and definitely very likable. Sung Kang plays true friend and a really cool and calm bad guy (by work and not as a person). Nathalie Kelley has been presented beautifully and is looking much more attractive and sweet then she has ever looked. All in all, Vin Diesel is not missed, and by the way he has a small surprise visit in the movie.

The movie really has great music that goes very well with the picturization. The punch line really motivates you and is truly in line with the theme and tagline of the I edition of the movie (If you have what it takes... You can have it ALL!), “If You Ain't Outta Control, You Ain't In Control.”

And then if you like Tokyo Drift then get ready for yet untitled next treat in 2009. Yes they’re coming up with IV edition of 'The Fast and the Furious'

A R Rahman - A Genious

Here are a couple of videos if you are sitting on a broad band. First one is 'Vande Maataram - (maa tujhe salaam)' by A R Rahman, first man in India, who created and proved that desh-bhakti can also sound good, this was the first ever desh-bhakti song that I liked, next one is another great creation by the Maestro, where he creates a symphony of 'Jan Gan Man' in his very own modern, fresh style. I'm in fact waiting for him to recompose one of the greats 'Aye mere watan ke logon', as the singer's voice (yes I know its Lata) in this song fails to create that high, which should be created by such a beautiful composition, a very good example of good composition, but ordinary singinig and music arrangement.

This song proves the fact that you indeed need a great arranger also along with a good composer and singer, an issue with all the pakistaani singers who are coming to India and their songs are being arranged by Indian composers and arrangers. In fact we are living in an era where arrangers are doing a better job then composers, may it be Vishal-Shekhar, or Shanker-Ehsaan-Loy. But whe it comes to the maestro, he is a great composer and a greater singer and still better arranger.

Hatts-off to such a Genious, and I feel proud that he's an Indian.

60 years of Independence

Chakde India, Hail India, Hoo Haa India, Mera Bharat Mahan, Be Indian buy Indian. Yes it's time for all this and more, it's India's celebration for 60 years of freedom.

Cut the crap, Gimme a break, who today understands what freedom is, what independence is, what is love for your nation, or rather what love is. World has always been materialistic, and human has always done what he has felt was in his best interest. Nobody wants freedom for others, in surroundings, all one wants is that he should be free to do what he wants to. OK, tell me if you come to know that there are 10 rowdies, who come in the nearby area, two rows from your house, would you go there and fight with those rowdies to leave that place, a big NO my dear, instead you’d pray that you don’t have any such nonsense in your area. So when this is the situation two rows from your house, why the hell would you care for someone whom you don’t know or is far away from you. Everybody is shouting about what we have lost and what we have gained, relax dude, care for your retirement option, as none of these speakers, and gyanies will come at that time to help you out.

I'd like to open with a short story, there was a very healthy business once upon a time and everybody was having a happy time, then all of a sudden the business lost direction and every body including management knew what was causing chaos, but could never dare to do anything. One fine day, the troublemaker came had-on with a senior management official, and the same official, who was looking at things, going from bad to worse, for years but did nothing against the culprit, suddenly came hard on him when technically the official had nothing against him at least in this case, but because he was insulted personally, he personally settled scores, going out and saying that Justice has been served and the Guilty has been punished, now everything will be fine. What’s the moral of the story, its that anybody and every body reacts only when he is affected personally.

With all due respect to M K G, he also launched an aggressive campaign against the Britishers only after he was personally insulted, and kicked out of a train. Prior to that, he was also a guy with no reservations against foreign clothing, and three piece suits, and foreign education. My dear reader every body has vested interests in whatever he does. Today if somebody comes as a boss at your work place, and starts beating you, firing you, cuts your salary for every damn reason, in short he's a complete jerk, then at that time all office members, new/old, male/female, Hindu/ Muslim, and whatever classification is possible on earth, will come together to out-root and throw that boss out. That's it, this is fight for independence and you'll go to whatever limits to fight against such a Boss. So my friend, there’s nothing special in fighting against injustice or wrong, everybody always did this and will do this.

It’s not our fault that we are born in a free nation, and now we have to serve a penalty for being born in free India. Every Tom, Dick and Harry will come and say that you don’t understand what freedom is, you don’t know what it takes to fight for nation.

Nobody takes a bullet on him, even for the next door neighbor, then who the hell cares for a community, a city or a state that is 500-1000 kms away from him. It feels good to speak big things, like it hurts when we look at today’s generation, Its sad to see India bowing to whatever America says, this should be done, that should be done. Com'on don't do anything, just create a society wide fund and put half of your household income in that fund, and let that fund develop poor people, worker class, around you. Can you do that? NO, you can’t. So just keep your muth shut, coz this is the generation that has caused an IT revolution world wide.

When a poor, needy is ill, he doesn’t need your affection, he needs medication and hospitalization. If you are a self acclaimed samaj sevi, and soft hearted, then you'll give him a 100-500 rupee note and that'll be all that you can do, would you go ahead and bear all the expenses, till that person recovers totally. NO, you can’t. So just shut up and leave the message of help the poor, help the needy.

Everybody liked a movie that came last year, yes it was 'lage raho munna bhai', and Gandhi Giri was what made film famous, my dear reader it was not Gandhi Giri that you liked in the movie, it was the humor in the movie, it was the presentation that you or any body else liked, so wake up and stop fooling yourself and others, be true at least to yourself.

I'd say all who say that letting MNC's come to India is hurting Indian manufacturers, are losers, it is bloody politicians who hype issues like this and racial, communal, and other sensitive issues to create wining agendas. If MNC's are coming to India and Indians are picking their products, even at higher prices, then why the hell are you going out crying, saying that they are charging higher prices. You idiot, when somebody is ready to pay a higher price for a product, it means that the low priced item does not match his criteria, so don't cry, instead make things which people/consumers like, and believe me they'll buy your Indian products too. It's silly to cry 'be Indian, buy Indian', just make Quality products and people will buy your products.

In flag hoisting ceremony at our Institute today, a young gentleman, came forward and made a very good point, though students with desh bhakti running high found it a bit amusing. He said that its good to talk about India, its independence, and public welfare and all, but charity begins at home, just try and take good care of your self and your surroundings, and if you and everybody in India is able to do this loyally, then India will become a free, independent, self reliant country on it's own. In fact what’s the need to go and dig the wicket of a cricket stadium if a Pakistani singer is performing in India, these people themselves are confused, they themselves pee on the walls and talk of ethics.

My take on Independence Day is that just be yourselves, don’t fight with anybody un-necessarily, but hit hard if the situation demands, help others in what so ever way you can, if you can, keep your surroundings clean and green, buy what you like, may it be US, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or even Indian, watch good movies like 'Chakde India', 'Awarapan' and ‘Bourne Ultimatum', and listen to AR Rahmaan and Mahesh Bhatt’s music like 'Vande Maataram', 'Warriors in Peace' and 'Awarapan', drink Pepsi, and be COOL.

Avoid / Stop one minute shutdown timer due to RPC

When due to an unexpected error, or reference, the OS (Windows NT, XP) thinks that system is under attack 'Remote Procedure Call' (RPC) calls for a shutdown in 60 seconds.

In such situation if one is not interested in shutting down th PC, then the solution is quite simple.
i.) Go to 'start' and then to 'run'.
ii.) Write here "shutdown.exe -a" (without quotes).

Blank desktop on Logon

Some times when something is installed or un-installed, default shell value is supposed to be configured to new one and it actually neither changes to the new one and instead removes default that is Explorer. It can also happen as a result of a virus attack especially something like W32.Blaster.Worm.
It results in such an awkward situation that you don't get anything on desktop, except for the wallpapers, and you're shocked to see that all your icons are gone (at least not visible) and your starting point, the start taskbar at the bottom is also gone and you don't know what to do.
The solution is quite simple if you can toy around with the registry a lil' bit. Follow these steps in order to get back your icons and taskbar.
i.) Press 'CTRL+ALT+DEL'
ii.) Go to the first tab - 'Applications'
iii.) In the bottom you'll see 'New Task' button, Press it.
iv.) In the window that pops up write 'regedit' (without quotes), and press 'OK'.
v.) In the left hand pane go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and expand it to go to Software then move to Microsoft to Windows NT to CurrentVersion and finallly to WinLogon, here in the left hand pane youll see Shell, double click on it and enter 'Explorer.exe' (without quotes)as value data in the window that pops up and press 'OK'. (and if you have experience with regedit then simply it is that browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\Shell and changet the value to 'Explorer.exe (without quotes)')
vi.) That's it, you're done. Just logoff and login, and you'll get all your icons and taskbar back.

Richard Marx - King of Ballads

PDF (portable document format) today is definitely the best form of text exchange over net, but I personally hate the amount of time it sucks to open a .pdf document, I personally have adobe pdf reader installed but I use this tiny little utility called "foxit reader", that can open a .pdf file at speed of textpad. This utility helps user to open and read pdf files faster then adobe reader. Download the application and no installation is required, just tick yes make it default .pdf reader when you run the software for the first time and you're done.

KK - God of Contemporary Singing

He has had no formal training in singing, but he took it as a passion and focussed on it, and worked day night, and see today, born on 23rd august at Trichur, Kerla, Krishna Kumar Menon or Kay Kay or KK as we know, has more than 2000 Jingles in 11 Languages to his credit. He in fact started his career with Jingles and has since then given some of the best jingles of all times, to those companies and more so he is one man who has got advertisement jingles to be sung and hummed by us.
He started with singing title tracks of young serials like Hip HIp Hurray, Just Mohabbat & jingles for ads like Hero Honda, Pepsi, Frooti, TVS Scooty etc.
He dominated the TV screen for three-four years befor he struck his first major blow, in highly acclaimed music of "Maachis", believe me take out KK's voice from 'chod aaye hum, woh galiyaan' and the song will loose it's soul. But he still didn't get true recognition untill "Hum Dil de chuke Sanam" happened. Here he gave that generation (kids between 15-25 at that time) their anthem, it was a song that was sung in almost all student get-to-gethers, competetions and any platform where a song could be sung. It went on to become the most sung song of all times on public platforms. Yes it was the legend "Tadap Tadap ke is dil se aah nikalti rahi".
As I have said earlier also and I still would say that his voice is not so very well suited for conventional playback singing, but yes when it comes to contemporary singing he is "The King".
Who can forget one of his greats in a movie that got into all kinds of controversies and couldn't release, yes it is "Main Khuda" from "Paanch". It was a song that had energy that was never ever seen or heard off ever before in Indian Film Music industry. In fact not only this song but yet another tiny version, that was later on called "Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega" theme, "Koi meri Jaan le le" had enormous ammount of energy and in fact would need courage to take such a risk in Indian Film Industry.
Later on a flury of songs made it sure that KK is here to stay and not afraid to sing tough songs. Amidst all this hard work and struggle came "Pal", an album that I personally liked for the first time as it had shades of Bryan Adam's singing and Music, but later on accepted as an Indians voice and singing style (it does happen that initially when we see someone we try to relate it to something that is known to us, didn't this happen when Divya Bharti came, she was called Junior Sri Devi and later on we accepted her as Divya, same happened when Divya Bharti died, and rambha came in to scene).
Any how, "Pal" has been an album that has always got me confusing, I start it with first song and then think that this is the best song, then when the second song comes I think thhis is the best, then when third one comes, I think that this one's the best and this goes on. But today I'll take up a stand and say that the first song that I liked (or in fact heard) of "Pal" was "Aap ki dua hai Pyar hua", it resembles verymuch to Bryan Adam's all time smash hit, "Summer of 69" and it remembers me of the great times of "Bagalkot", as does this song (Summer of 69) to everybody. Then it was Pal's "Yaaron" that went on to become theme song of India's first ever Indian Idol.
Then how can one miss "re Dola re" by KK in "Dola re". He is a maestro at putting life in anything he does. He's almost a Paras in Indian Industry, with an all time high of his career, and on a winning spree where all that he sings, bursts that charts. Just recently he has once again given a song high in energy like "Main Khuda" in "Life in a... Metro", "Alvida", its a must download and listen song for anybody who likes music.

Double Clicking does not play mp3 (audio) file

Sometimes it happens that when you double click a music file (mp3, wma, or anything then it does not play, that is your default player does not auto launch on double clicking a file.
Two solutions are possible:
Solution 1: Start > Set Program Access and Defaults > Custom > Check Use my current media player > and uncheck The enable access to this program for Windows Media Player.
Solution 2: Disable DDE for all the file extension that are not playing one by one.
How to disable?
Open "My Computer", then click on "Tools", "Folder Options", Select "File Types", choose the extension that doesn't work when you double click, for example: MP3. Then click "Advanced" button below, or if you cant see it there click "Restore" button, and now that same button becomes "Advanced" button. Doulble click "Open" and uncheck the "Use DDE" box, click "OK", Double click "Play" and do the same (uncheck the "Use DDE" box, then click "OK"). Click "OK" again for "Edit File Type" window, then "Close" (in "Folder Options"). This will fix the problem.

KK and Hamara Bajaj

Here’s another example of what a good team can do to a brand. A great association for bajaj with India in ‘Hamara Bajaj’, followed by a jingle that gave the ‘hamara bajaj’ campaign its real identity in 1989.
While the first campaign, which hit TV screens in the eighties, highlighted the company’s value-for-money products like the Chetak and Super, their second one tried to revamp the old image that was becoming outdated with old logo and sound. The effort was outstanding and a new concept that was not exploited in India by any other company accept for one, I’m not sure it was BPL or Videocon where they demonstrated complete range (or at least front runners in their portfolio), the ad showed a kid (‘Home Alone’ kind of concept), if any body remembers the ad please leave a comment.
This 2001 ad was a true classic and an execution that could challenge any of the Airtel’s successful campaign in concept.

A cool hunk, fast driving, vowing Ganpati Four typical rowdies, one hits the other, and apologizes (typical south Indian style)
a sweet couple on Caliber, but the girl taking her hands of the boy as they pass by an old aged person
another set of rowdies racing on the road, local eshtyle, but again respecting a rangoli
a young working woman, going on Saffire and respecting and adjusting her sindoo
a sardar ji taking a foreigner to Gurudwara and covering her head with cloth
and finally two rock artists carrying Indian music in form of Sitar

And what’s more this execution would never have been possible without India’s best modern day singer KK, I know people would say Shaan is a better singer, or has better songs, but Shaan has been blessed with a very smooth and silky voice, which KK does not have, all KK has, is his capacity to sing extremely hard songs with ease. His voice I admit is not suitable for play back singing for a hero but YES it is best suited for contemporary movies (Page 3 and experimental movies). Yes I definitely am fan of his risk taking capacity and his singing.

That is not all, and once again Bajaj is up with a new tag line, an ad full of special effects (in fact special effects have been overdone a bit, but one must admit that shooting is excellent, stunts have really been performed really well, and God for once, Bikes are running at high speed on Indian screen, otherwise jokers make films like dhoom and dhoom 2 and don't shoot one real scene, all you get to see in the name of high speed is a fast forward clip of bike driving shot, the only thing that doesn't make sense is the transformation of Bike into God knows what....), and yes their song/jingle is once again full of energy, and passion, the new one sports the tag-line ‘Alag andaaz, alag hai khoj, rakhae aagay, hamari soch’ (think different, stay ahead), in keeping with the company’s new ‘Distinctly Ahead’ focus. This time as opposed to the value-for-money concept focused around the Indian family, the new campaign is in line with Bajaj’s new strategy of being a differentiated company, and being distinctly ahead. The campaign is conceptualized by R ‘Balki’ Balakrishnan, national creative director at Lowe. Here is the latest ad by bajaj for its bike pulsar 220CC, and yes its once again a Hamara Bajaj winner.

· Looking to strike a chord with a whole new generation, the campaign speaks about ‘naye bharat ki nayi raftaar’ (the racing machine of a new India) and associates itself with the technological growth and speed of India and Bajaj
· against the ‘buland Bharat ki buland tasveer’ (proud picture of a proud India) of yore, that associated Bajaj so beautifully with whole India and
· the ‘badal rahein hain hum yahaan… yeh zameen, yeh aasmaan…’ (we are changing with the times) of 2001, that associated itself with the youth and changing times in Indian youth and Bajaj.

Sometimes after a fresh installation of Windows and specifically Windows XP 64 (SP2) the ‘Send to’ menu does not appear when you right click a file.

The solution is quite simple and involves only one change in registry.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
4. Now right click ‘ContextMenuHandlers’ and add a new key and rename it to ‘Send To’
5. Now double click on ‘Default’ in the right hand pane and add “7BA4C740-9E81-11CF-99D3-00AA004AE837” (without quotes) as value.
6. Close the regedit and you’re done

Another tweak on how to add items to right click > send to menu is
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type sendto, and then click OK.
3. Right click in the open window and go to New > Shortcut, and browse to what you want to add to ‘Send to’ and that’s it.

If your PC does not detect CD/DVD ROM, then follow the steps given below, this solution is 100% sure if the error code for not detecting the CD/DVD ROM is 39.
How to check what the error is, right click on “my computer” and go to properties in the pop up menu. Next go to hardware tab and select device manager. Here you’ll see ! mark in front of your CD/DVD ROM. Right click on your CD/DVD ROM in device list and select properties from the pop up menu.
Here in “Device Status” you can check your error code. If it is error 39 then this tweak will definitely work, and it also does work in many other scenarios, so you can definetly give it a shot.

RFID - next generation inventory solution

Companies heavily dependent on fast and reliable transportation are actively looking into mobile and wireless technologies that make it easier and less time consuming to track and monitor sealed container shipments worldwide. One of the technologies that show a lot of promise is radio frequency identification, or RFID, and the use of tags that are equipped with such technology. Wal-Mart Stores has canceled testing for an experimental wireless inventory control system, ending one of the first and most closely watched efforts to bring controversial radio frequency identification technology to store shelves in the United States. Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology uses microchips to wirelessly transmit product serial numbers to a scanner without the need for human intervention. The technology is seen as an eventual successor to bar-code inventory tracking systems, promising to cut distribution costs for manufacturers and improve retailing margins. But the technology has drawn barbs from consumer privacy groups that worry about potential abuses if product-tracking tags are allowed to follow people from stores into their homes. Wal-Mart’s proposed smart-shelf system was designed to pick up data transmitted from microchips embedded in Gillette product packaging, alerting store managers via computer when stock is running low on the shelf or when items may have been stolen–two informative and powerful measurements in the retail business. Those ambitious plans now are likely to take a backseat to proposals to upgrade warehouse operations with RFID technology, which will require fewer chips and less computational power. Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retail chain with more than 4,700 stores around the globe, said that it is urging its top 100 suppliers to attach RFID chips to cases and pallets of products that they ship to Wal-Mart warehouses. Gillette and Wal-Mart had lauded the use of RFID systems to track merchandise in stores. Both said they were eager to explore the technology’s potential to boost the profits of retailers and manufacturers by ensuring that products are always available to consumers and by deterring theft.

Instant eye on inventory: Retailers are ever watchful for ways of improving the balance between inventory supply and consumer demand. They want to make sure there are enough products on the shelves to meet demand but not so much that they are sitting in a warehouse taking up costly inventory space. The use of RFID technology is viewed as one of the more promising tools to improve visibility of inventory almost instantly. But companies have only dipped their toes into the water, examining installation behind the scenes in warehouse settings. The smart-shelf trial by blue-chip company Wal-Mart was viewed as a potentially aggressive endorsement of an in-store application because of the company’s ability to influence its suppliers and push the adoption of new technologies–something it helped to do with bar-code scanning technology in the 1980s. The unexpected cancellation of the test is letting some of the steam out of the market, but that may be a good thing, according to one analyst. “The RFID industry has been floundering in a sea of science projects, which is what these trials have been to date,” said Jeff Woods, an analyst with research firm Gartner. “This is one of the most over hyped technologies out there, and this can be viewed as a precursor to the bubble bursting for RFID.” Soon after Wal-Mart first discussed its smart-shelf trial, privacy advocates began to raise concerns about the technology. The main questions: Would retailers and manufacturers be able to monitor products after consumers purchased them? Could the technology be misused by hackers and criminals or exploited for government surveillance? In answer, several RFID chip manufacturers pledged to incorporate a “kill switch” into their chips in a move to relieve consumer fears of the technology. The kill switch would let retailers and consumers disable the chips at the checkout counter.

Not-so-cheap chip: Economics ay have played a role in Wal-Mart’s decision to shelve its in-store RFID test. RFID chips are still too expensive for wide-scale use with consumer merchandise. While today’s price of around 10 cents a chip is cheap enough to fuel initial trials, the cost of the chips have to fall to a fraction of a penny if they are to become ubiquitous in stores. And that will take about 10 to 15 years, he added. Privacy concerns, though they’ve been overblown, have become significant enough to be a factor in the development of the technology and market and push the technology farther. Another issue for companies looking to test RFID technology is the strain on their inventory networks. For a company Wal-Mart’s size, it could have more than a billion products worth of data being collected, stored and sent through its inventory network, which means an extremely sophisticated system, would have to be in place to properly process the data.

The Network Effect: The “network effect” is a term used by technologists to describe the way some devices grow more useful as more people use them. The classic example is the telephone. More recently, e-mail has followed the same trajectory in going from a device used primarily by university researchers in the 1970s to ubiquitous public use in the 1990s. In contrast to the situation for Retail RFID, recent press reports about ship-container tracking have all been positive. Despite the heavy reliance of proprietary technology in tracking shipping containers, this market is growing as clients eagerly adopt the technology. Retail RFID, on the other hand, has adopted an open-standards approach to spurring the market; but despite this growth is slow and imposed primarily by big-box retail mandates. The root cause is the network effect. Due to the incomplete infrastructure of EPC RFID tools, the retail RFID market is currently not big enough to drive significant value-add to all participants in the supply chain. Companies are right to moderate their investments in this area while carefully choosing pilot programs to prepare themselves for the future. RFIDs in particular are being adopted widely by retail majors. “If somebody steals goods without paying, it is the public who ends up paying for it. We identify compulsive shoplifters and often catch them three or more times in the same month. We try not to involve the police especially when teenagers are involved. This is where RFIDs are useful in protection of goods,” says Biyani, Director, Pantaloon. Dharmesh Lamba, Country Head, Checkpoint echoes the sentiments. He points out that India’s organized retail is only 3 percent while 97 percent is unorganized. “India is the second largest growing economy in retail, after China. Around 300 plus shopping malls are coming up in 2006 alone. New products launched globally are now launched simultaneously in India as well,” says Lamba. In this context it is interesting to see that players like Checkpoint are entering the Indian market with their RFID solutions. John Davies, President, Global Apparel, Checkpoint plans to manufacture RFIDs and CCTV solutions in India. “As the retail segment in India keeps growing exponentially, RFID and other retail security products will play a more prominent role to control and combat retail shrinkage,” says Davies. However, RFID has its own share of defects. Some RFID tags cannot be detected by the antennas if they are shielded by the hand or the body. A solution suggested is that the RFID label should be integrated in the package or the product itself so the exact location of the RFID tag is not known. Another issue is threat to privacy. RFID can be used to trace customer behavior or find customer specific information. The tags can be read even if they are kept in the cars or homes of the customer. FID is responsible for transforming the retail scenario in India from traditional to modern. The concept of shopping malls is gradually getting accepted not only in large metros but also in small townships. Consumers get a prominent display and open access to products, while RFID protects the retailer by providing product identification and security to prevent retail shrinkage.

Now then, talking about past... I have worked with Rajasthan’s highest revenue generating College, ECB, Bikaner, and to start with as a marketing executive with National.

And talking about my life, atleast since i started taking some decisions it goes like this:

I have done B.E. in Electronics and Communication from B.E.C. Bagalkot, Karnataka, believe me it’s a heaven for students, I also had the previlige of staying at Pink House, I’m not sure if it is called by same name as yet.
I have also done M.B.A. in Marketing/HR from O.K.I.M., Kota, Rajasthan, India(yes it’s true OKIMites are Dynamite).
Then I tried my hands at M.Tech. in Computer Science from J.R.N. University, Udaipur, actually I always thought I was good at computers until I actually did M.Tech.... lol... believe me, playing games and patching some software is no way computing... i learned it the hard way... buy doing M.Tech....lol...
Then I decided that enough is enough... now is the time to be called a Doctor... to be looked upon as a Dr. Manish Tanwar, and so I went on to get my Doctorate in Marketing from University of Bikaner.

By hobby I love creating things and doing different things myself (especially which I’m not supposed to do, or are not exactly my job... hahaha... update: I wrote this line some 4-5 years ago and how true was it, as is evident from my recent venture 'Aditya Informatics and Research Centre'... doing exactly what I'm not supposed to... lol...), they may be anything ranging from a carpentry, to plumbing, to electrical connections, fixing up my computer (though I don’t enjoy it so much but most of the time I’m doing this only)”. I also like testing software, whoa!, don’t get excited, I’m not talking about serious testing, I just like testing software from a user point of view, how friendly it is, how it operates, how can we better use it, how can(if possible) we reverse engineer its output(Yeah, I’m talking about output, because I’m a firm believer that if you can put a “Made in India” tag on an imported motherboard, or an Intel processor or anything you like then it becomes Indian, so there’s no fun reinventing the wheel, by going through all the coding and hard work in making a software or hardware coz all that matters, is your hand on “End Product”). I also enjoy working on flash and websites (html and am trying to work on ASP... update: i've dropped this experiment)(my no. 1 Favourite).
I like making fun of “self acclaimed specialists”, especially IT and programming. Because these cartoons don’t know a thing about IT, all they know, is COMPUTER is a device capable of handling millions of operations in a second, and IT is computerizing an organization’s database. Don’t worry, don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that I am a specialist at IT or programming, but then I don’t need to be one (not all of us are good at cricket, but we all can critically appraise cricket coaches, same is case with me), I may not be a specialist but I like making fool of “self acclaimed specialists”, mind you “self acclaimed specialists” and not true or real specialists. I really appreciate if someone is really talented or knows real stuff, as you get to learn from these people.

I also like Computer games, and mind you not those damn board games, but real computer games, games that thrash your graphics and processor and RAM to the limit, the games for which Computer is meant for. Board games can be played on those ages old Sega and media, 8 bit machines also, and if you are a real advanced board game specialist you could go in for 16 bit Sega... lol...

I also sketch a bit, actually used to sketch a bit, but since I entered real world I don’t really get any time off, and if do get some time I prefer newer hobbies of computer games, flash and websites.
